At the UCLA Graduate School of Education, Professor Val Rust was surrounded by students who read a Day of Action statement. This statement accused Professor Rust of racial micro-aggressions in his classroom. One of the micro aggressions the students complained about was his habit of correcting their bad grammar. The education school’s Dean, Marcelo Suarez-Orozco, failed to defend Professor Rust. 

The progressives have convinced the federal government to promote giving research funding to under represented minority scientists. This has sometimes lead to lowering the bar, or even removing the bar completely. The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program has dropped its Graduate Record Exam requirement.
