Falun Gong and Li Hongzhi

In the 1990s, there had been a suppression of qigong masters Yan Xin and Zhang Hongbao. Falun Gong was an offshoot of qigong. Li Hongzhi the founder off FG in May 1992.Li Dongzhi was born in Changchun. In 1994 Li Hongzhi moved to NYC. Falun Gong believe in :

  • Benevolence

  • Forbearance


Mass Rally at Zhongnanhai

On April 25, 1999 Falun Gong mass rally on the Beimenlu side of Zhongnanhai., 21 thousand people.


Outlawing Falun Gong

On July 22, 1999, FG outlawed by CCP because of the April 25 protest rally. Confiscated and destroyed FG publications. Television networks and newspapers controlled by the CCP presented propaganda that FG was evil and a threat to China, illegal, superstitious, not scientific.
